Susanne Becker

Susanne Becker, is a philosopher of knowledge and interdisciplinary researcher specialising in applied epistemology, decision-making processes and the cognitive impact of intelligent technologies.

She has worked on the theory of knowledge, testimony, the justification of beliefs and collective processes of knowledge construction, before turning her focus to the concrete problems arising from cognitive automation and artificial intelligence.

She works as a Corporate Philosopher within a multinational company that develops artificial intelligence platforms for large public and private organisations.

Her role involves analysing the epistemological implications of AI systems, assessing the quality of algorithm-supported decision-making processes and contributing to the design of more transparent and interpretable models.

Error and the Limits of Truth

Every model of reality contains a greater or lesser portion of reality. Error is the point at which reality exceeds the model. This is why a culture that seeks to eliminate error risks also losing the principal mechanism through which it discovers the limits of its own representations.

Cognition and uncertainty

How do we perceive uncertainty?

Susanne Becker23 June 2026Year I • issue 3 May–June2 minutes read

Human beings deal with uncertainty by constructing compressed representations of the paths linking the present to possible futures, rather than modelling the full complexity of the situation.
